Kaan Becer (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-717th) came into Final Day play at the 2012 West Coast Poker Championship in Vancouver 5th in chips. But it wasn't easy for Becer, who never had control of this event until deep into heads-up play.
Becer defeated Michael Baxter (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-969th) heads-up. Baxter is no stranger to the WCPC Main Event - he finished 13th at the 2010 WCPC. Baxter also finished 13th in Seven-Card Stud Event #7 this past summer at the WSOP.
A few big name players in Canadian and American poker were also in contention on the final day in Vancouver but only Vancouver's native son, Terrence Chan (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 546th), was able to collect Player of the Year points.
Alex Cordero, Vinny Pahuja, Huy Nguyen and Jean-Philippe Piquette cashed on the final day of the event.
