PTS AT STAKE: NITSCHE CONTINUES TO ROLL, THIS TIME AT WPT SLOVENIA

I enjoyed a Twitter conversation with Dominik Nitsche a few Sundays ago - he was commenting on the fact that I was describing his recent success on the circuit as "minor league results". I explained to Dominik that it wasn't meant as a insult, quite the opposite - the 20-year old pro was quick to mention that he was only poking fun at my comments - and was sure to make it clear that his age is the reason why he's not dominating on the WSOP felt at the Rio this summer ...

Funny enough, days later, Nitsche is in contention at WPT Slovenia - a MAJOR championship for sure - a WPT bracelet win would assure that everyone would know the name Dominik Nitsche, 11 months before he makes his way to Las Vegas and tackles the World Series of Poker.

Nitsche is the Day 1B chip leader after Monday's play - he sits third overall in chips, Day 1A chip leaders Johan Patrick Hirvonen and Salvatore Bianco are ahead of Nitsche.

Casey Kastle, Kyle Wilson, Toby Lewis, John Eames and Tony G are some of the other 84 players still alive coming into Tuesday's Day 2 play.

Here are the Top 10 Chip Counts:
Johan Patrick Hirvonen 148,000
Salvatore Bianco 123,675
Dominik Nitsche 120,250
Greger Aktell 103,025
Manuel Blaschke 102,200
Gianluca Speranza 102,125
Dan Murariu 98,150
Marcello Marigliano 97,950
Fabio Montrucchio 96,450
Gaetano Fortugno 96,000

Notable Day 1A and Day 1B player eliminations included: Dragan Galic, Filippo Candio, Sam El Sayed and Yann Dion.
