THE SUMMER SO FAR: BEN LAMB CAPTURES #1 OVERALL RANK

PHOTO: POKERNEWS.com

Anytime I can reference anything Dave Matthews Band and I'm a happy man. The Summer So Far reminds me of the year 2000 and my Napster days, where I tried for days to download a bootleg copy of the then unreleased DMB album - know as the Lillywhite Sessions to most fans. Alright, onto poker!

The November 9 participants have been given 9th place PTPR Points - 55 points to be exact. Those points will count towards July's PTPR Player of the Month rankings. All additional points accumulated at the final table will be given away in November when a WSOP World Champion is crowned. Those points will go towards November's POM rankings.

With this, Ben Lamb's amazing summer continues! His 55 PTPR Points give him top spot on the 2011 PTPR Tournament Player of the Year Leaderboard - surpassing equally impressive Jason Mercier. Mercier sits 17 PTPR Points behind Lamb. Eugene Katchalov moves down to third while European stars Alessio Isaia and "ElkY" Bertrand Grospellier round-out the Top 5.

Finally, here is a look at the extra points that remain to be captured once a new WSOP Champion is crowned:

Bracelet Winner 115
Runner-Up 55
3rd place 40
4th place 30
5th place 25
6th place 20
7th place 15
8th place 10
9th place 0
