2011 WSOP: A FINAL LOOK BACK AT THE PLAYER'S CHAMPIONSHIP

Love him or hate him, you simply cannot deny the star power of one Phillip Jerome Hellmuth Jr. Forget the antics, forget the hissy-fits, forget the tantrums, just look at his body of work and what he has accomplished in this his "comeback" season.

Like it or not, the man sure knows how to play poker ... and guess what? He can be humble in defeat - here is a tweet he posted a few hours ago ...

@phil_hellmuth
phil_hellmuth Congrats to Brian Rast, he played great, and all of the poker world truly loves him...Great guy...

This one really stings for Hellmuth though. He had a 17M to 2.4M chip lead but was unable to stop Brian Rast's charge, and, in the end, Rast picks up his second bracelet of the series.

Both players enter the PTPR Top 15 - Rast jumps all the way up 5th overall on the 2011 PTPR Tournament Player of the Year Leaderboard. Defending WPT World Champion Scott Seiver's and Owais Ahmed's performances also put them on the PTPR Leaderboard while Ben Lamb improved his position on the list, moving to 8th overall.

Other notables who scored PTPR Points in the event:
Matt Glantz, George Lind, Jason Lester, Vladimir Shchemelev, Jeff Lisandro, Yan Chen, Josh Arieh, Michael Binger, Barry Greenstein and Sebastien Ruthenberg.

Here are the payouts (in USD) for the final table participants:
1 Brian Rast 1,720,328
2 Phil Hellmuth 1,063,034
3 Minh Ly 665,763
4 Owais Ahmed 482,085
5 Matt Glantz 376,750
6 George Lind 300,441
