PTS AT STAKE: WSOP MAIN EVENT CARRIES 64M PRIZEPOOL!

PHOTO/SOURCE: POKERNEWS.com

So much for the death of poker.

Just imagine if Pokerstars, Full Tilt and all other sites were still qualifying peeps from around the world on their sites ... what would we have for Main Event numbers? Over 10,000 players?

Well, we'll stick with this great 6,865 participant turnout, oh, and did we mention the $64,531.000 prizepool? Stunning numbers!

Pro Mike Sowers has emerged as one of the early Day 2A leaders (the second wave of Day 2 participants will hit the felt on Tuesday). Sowers has had a reasonably good start to 2011 - collecting three PTPR Scores - in side events at the PCA and WPT Shooting Star plus a score at the WSOP.

2011 bracelet winnner David Diaz also appears on the leaderboard ... although we have TONS of poker left to play ... a little over 4,000 players remain at the moment.

Here are the unofficial Top 10 chip counts (as of 6:30PT):
1 Ankush Mandavia 290,000
2 Don Nguyen 266,000
3 Wayne Hines 265,000
4 Geoff Rasmussen 255,000
5 Mike Sowers 236,000
6 Renato Almeida 235,000
7 Troy Quenneville 230,000
8 Daniel Sims 230,000
9 Juan Perez 226,500
10 David Diaz 226,000
