Although we can't confirm this, it sure looks as if all WPT final table participants at WPT bestbet Jacksonville Fall Poker Scramble Main Event had early plans for dinner today as they battled to become the next WPT Champions Club member.
It took less than five hours to determine a winner in Jacksonville.
Noah Schwartz (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 10th) was the overwhelming chip leader heading into today's final table. Schwartz had missed out on a WPT win earlier this season when he final tabled at the LAPC, but, he would not let that happen today.
Schwartz continued to accumulate chip at a rapid pace at the final table, and, despite losing the chip lead when we reached heads-up play, Schwartz wasted no time to regain control of this tournament and finally win his first WPT title, in his home state of Florida.
Schwartz defeated Byron Kaverman (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 80th) heads-up. Kaverman has enjoyed deep runs at the PCA, WPT Jacksonville and the WSOP Ante-Only prior to his runner-up finish here in Jacksonville.
Kaverman's previous WPT best was a fourth place finish at the Grand Prix de Paris last season - Matt Waxman won that event.
Hanz Winzerler (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 40th) finished fourth in the event. Winzerler also has Top 5 finishes in the PCA PLO Championship, the WSOP 5K PLO Six-Handed event as well as the Florida State Poker Championship this season.
EPT Grand Final Champ Mohsin Charania (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 19th) finished 11th, James Calderaro (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 243rd), runner-up at WPT Jacksonville, finished 12th, WPT Regional bestbet Summer Series winner Mark Stephens Edwards (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-544th) was 13th while WSOP Europe Mix-Max Champ Jonathan Aguiar (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-55th) was 16th.
Other notables in the Top 18 include: former November Niner John Racener (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 355th), Brian Senie (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 897th), Lee Markholt (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-734th), Justin Zaki (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 489th) and Darryll Fish (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-1,229th).
