I reached out to Norwegian poker pro Andreas Hoivold earlier today asking about the condition of his countryman, two-time WSOP bracelet winner Thor Hansen - I was so pleased with the response I got!
As you may recall, Hansen we were informed that Hansen, now living in California, had been diagnosed with cancer back in February. The diagnosis at the time was quite dim, the word "terminal" was used and most of the poker world could do nothing but watch, hope and pray for their fellow man.
Hoivold has been given the poker world updates on Hansen's road to recovery.
Well, things appear to be looking up ... WAY UP!!!
In a conversation earlier today, Hoivold informed me that
"Thor is doing pretty well. He is in his 2nd round of chemo, and he is taking it like the champ that he is. He will come to Vegas on July 5th ... He will play the main and hopefully win it!"
Simply amazing news - thank you Andreas for sharing it with me! Nothing but tons of run-good sent your way - and Thor's - for the remainder of the Series.
