I usually do the daily recaps on the day after events have been run ... but, this one was too good to pass up!!
Two years after making his triumphant comeback to the world of poker by winning the 2010 WSOP Poker Players Championship, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 3rd) has made history tonight at the Rio, becoming the first poker player to win the Poker Players Championship twice.
And Grinder won his third bracelet in style, absolutely running over all that stood in his way the final table, which only took 5 hours to conclude ... literally, Grinder could simply NOT lose a hand late.
Mizrachi picks up a cool, crisp 1.45M for his efforts, defeating Chris Klodnicki (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-147th) heads-up.
Third place finisher Andy Bloch (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 18th) - who finally won his first WSOP bracelet earlier this Series - had finished second in the Players Championship back in 2006, losing to Chip Reese in a marathon heads-up session.
MOVING UP IN THE STANDINGS
With this win, Grinder sky-rockets up to third overall on the 2012 QuadJacks Poker Player of the Year Leaderboard.
Mizrachi has finished the 2010 season ranked 11th overall.
With his Top 16 finish David "ODB" Baker also enters the QJ Top 10 - sitting in ninth position.
Bloch moves up to 18th position following his third place performance.
