EPT GRAND FINAL: BACK AND FORTH - KURGANOV DEFEATS NEGREANU IN HR

PICTURE: POKERSTARS (Neil Stoddart)

It was back and forth as Igor Kurganov and "Kid Poker" Daniel Negreanu battled for the 25K high rollers crown earlier on Tuesday.

Kurganov (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-41st) outlasted Negreanu and is the latest Million Dollar Man in poker this season, collecting 1.08M EURO along the way.

Kurganov had finished second to Philipp Gruissem - who finished third in this event - at the EPT London High Rollers last season.

The second place finish must certainly be bitter sweet for Kid Poker. Negreanu (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-85th) was dominating the final table for a while and once he eliminated Justin Bonomo, he held a serious chip lead. Still, second is better than nothing and we were treated to an excellent heads up battle.

With his sixth place finish, PCA side event winner Noah Schwartz jumps up to sixth overall on the 2012 QuadJacks Poker Player of the Year Top 10, powered by PTPRpoker.

Gruissem (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-198th), Bonomo (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 24th) and Max Lykov (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 140th) were the other well-known pros at the final table.
