2011 WSOP: BUBBLE BUSTING IN 25K HEADS UP AS WSOP KICKS OFF!

PHOTO/SOURCE: POKERNEWS.com

We are off and running at the World Series of Poker! Two events started yesterday. Event 1 is the Casino Employees event - a non-open event so, consider Event 2 - the 25K buy-in No Limit Hold'em Heads Up World Championship the official kickoff to this summer's extravaganza!

128 total players created our four brackets .. Rounds 1 and 2 were completed on Tuesday. We're playing Rounds 3 and 4 today - Round 3 is currently in progress ...

There have been some tremendous matchups early on - Round 3 matches were highlighted by the Tom Dwan v. Ashton Griffin match ... although some would argue that the Alaei v. Hansen or the Busquet v. Robl matches should actually take center stage. By the way, Dwan and Busquet have advanced - the bubble has burst for Griffin and Robl.

Here are Round 3 matches that are over:
Olivier Busquet defeats Andrew Robl
Jonathan Jaffe defeats Isaac Haxton
David Paredes defeats John Juanda
Tom Dwan defeats Ashton Griffin
John Duthie defeats Carlos Mortensen
Richard Lyndaker defeats Chris Moorman
Yevgeniy Timoshenko defeats Amritraj Singh

And the Round 3 matches that are still going on as of press time:
David Benyamine vs. Anthony Guetti
Dani Stern vs. Jake Cody
Daniel Alaei vs. Gus Hansen
Steve Billirakis vs. Trevor Pope
Matt Marafioti vs. Maxim Lykov
Eric Froehlich vs. Steve Zolotow
