Who said Phil Hellmuth can only compete in Hold'em games? It may be time to take that back, jack!
Phil Hellmuth earns his second 2nd place finish in a non-hold'em event in about a week - this time, the 10K Seven Card Stud Stud Hi-Low Split-8 Championship. Could it really be? Could it be only a matter of time for Hellmuth to pickup bracelet #12? Let's be honest, most were starting to write him off, now, in about 10 days, he has gotten right back into the poker spotlight.
Hellmuth is now only a few points away from the 2011 PTPR Tournament Player of the Year Leaderboard.
We seem to be forgetting about the winner of the event, the one who spoiled the big party - he is Eric Rodawig. Rodawig (pictured, front) picks up his first ever bracelet and his first PTPR Poitns of the season.
The Final 18 was filled with notable players - including Ali Eslami who picks up 11 PTPR Points with his sixth score of the year but still sits second on the PTPR Charts while Erik Seidel picks up his fifth PTPR Score of the season.
Other notables: John Racener, Ted Forrest, David Benyamine, Joe Tehan, Anthony Lellouche, Felipe Ramos, Christopher George, Phil Laak, Bill Chen, Cyndy Violette and Chris Tryba.
In other news, Kirk Caldwell collets the bracelet in Event 32 - No Limit Hold'em. Kyle Cartright and Adam Geyer also collected PTPR Points in the event.
