Vanessa Selbst starts the poker season really quietly - then - she hits NAPT Mohegan Sun and becomes one of the hottest poker players on the circuit.

This was exactly the story last year after Selbst lifted the NAPT Mohegan Sun trophy - she went on to great success, including winning the Partouche Main Event.

Well, after an up-and-down Day 1, Selbst started accumulating chips on Sunday ... but today, well, today was the 2011 coming out party for Selbst. An amazing day ends with a big chip lead - she has 400,000 chips more than second place Vincent Rubianes.

Can Selbst really go back to back? She does have the skill, but, what a tremendous accomplishment it would be. Only 23 other runners stand in her way.
