Final table play is set to begin tomorrow afternoon at the Bicycle Casino's The Big Event.
Victor Ramdin and former WSOP Champ Joe Hachem are in contention with 8 players left. Ramdin, who held the chip lead earlier in the day, sits second in chips while Hachem is fourth.
Hachem's survival is impressive. At this point last night, he had just taken two tough beats and was hanging by a thread. 24 hours later, he's right in line for his first major poker title in a long time.
The chip leader heading into final table play is Jeremy Ausmus (pictured). He holds close to a 2:1 chip lead on second place Ramdin.
Santiago Nadal (6th) has 15 PTPR Points heading into final table play while short stack Govert Metaal (8th) has 19 PTPR Points this season.

Nice work! Do you still consider this, even without the NAPT branding, a major tournament? Plenty of money up for grabs, but how will history look at "The Big Event" in terms of taking down a "major"? - pkrgssp
ReplyDeleteIt's a very, very fair question pkrgssp! And I'll be honest, I've been struggling with it myself. It's placed in the "Premier" category of my scoring system, but I am contemplating making it a "Tier 3" event.
ReplyDeleteThe major reason why I left it in the "Premier" category, basically still considering it a major event is that many of the pros were still coming out ... but, the more I think about it, the more other tourneys have the same scenario withouth them being "major" events.
Looks like we will be bumping this event down to a Tier 3 event.
