415 KNOW THE WAY TO SAN JOSE

A very strong 415 player field have found their way to San Jose and Bay 101 Casino's World Poker Tour Shooting Star.

This has always been a favorite destination for many runners on the World Poker Tour given it's "bounty" and different structure but, 415 is about 80 more players than what we had last season - kudos to Matt Savage and the Bay 101 crew!

Over 140 players participated on Day 1A yesterday, including 19 star bounties.

Brian Schmidt won the 10k prize for finishing the day as chip leader. Here are the other notable players with solid chip stacks heading into Day 2...

Big names who were eliminated during Day 1A play included: Aguiar, Tehan, Sebok, Thaler, Madsen, Dunst, Ramdin, Seiver, Smith, Seidel, Kassela and Dan Harrington.

Day 1B started a few hours ago, Steve Dempsey, Toto Leonidas, Kathy Liebert, Matt Waxman, Kevin MacPhee and defending champion McLean Karr are currently amongst the chip leaders.

Recent eliminations include The Grinder, Ed Sabat, Vanessa Selbst, the Magician, Daniel Cates and Chris Bell.
