WPT AMNEVILLE: THE AMNEVILLE HORROR - BAUMSTEIN BOMBS, ALLAIN WINS WPT TITLE

PHOTO/SOURCE: WPT.com

While most of the world is tuned into live coverage of the WSOP Final Table, the WPT had some final table business of their own to take care of.

The Seven Casino in Amnéville, France was the latest setting for the World Poker Tour - and this final table was certainly like a horror movie for Scott Baumstein. Baumstein - the only non-French player in the final six - held the end-of-day chip lead since Wednesday and was certainly the odds-on favourite to take this tournament down when FT play began on Sunday.

Shockingly, a couple of major showdown losses and Baumstein was crippled. A few minutes later, the American was done, in fourth place! Still, Baumstein earned his fourth PTPR Score of 2011, crossing the century-mark for points.

Adrien Allain captured his second major title when all the dust had settled. Allain - the 2009 APT Macau Champion - battled fellow Frenchman Jordan Ouin on his way to the Championship.

Both players duked it out. Allain had a big lead early but Ouin clawed his way back in, capturing the lead and all the momentum only to see Allain put a stop to it and capture the WPT Amnéville title.

2011 PTPR LEADERBOARD LIVE LOOK-IN
33. Matt Giannetti, 182 PTPR Points
34. Michael Mizrachi, 180
35. Adrien Allain, 178
36. Mikhail Lakhitov, 177
37. Andrew Frankenberger, 176
38. David Diaz, 173

Allain is certainly someone to keep an eye on for the rest of the season. His four PTPR Scores this season absolutely put him amongst the upper echelon of players on the circuit.
