LAPT PANAMA: MAHONEY LEADS AS RAZAVI LOOKS FOR POKERSTARS TRIPLE

The final table is set at the inaugural LAPT Panama event in Panama City.

Patrick Mahoney (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: NR) will have the chip lead once play resumes at the Veneto Hotel & Casino on Sunday where the final eight players will play down to a winner.

Mahoney enjoyed scores in WPT events in Mississippi and Florida in 2011, he has yet to post POY points this season.

One intriguing storyline developing in Panama is that of Sam Razavi (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 130th) and his chase for a PokerStars triple. After a 2011 win at UKIPT Cork in May of 2011, Razavi picked up the biggest cash of his career last month at ANZPT Melbourne.

Razavi will need a lot of help early though as he comes into final table play with an extremely small chip stack.

PokerStars Team Pro Leo Fernandez (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: NR) is the other feature player at the final table. The Argentinian will start the day only a few chips off the lead.

FINAL TABLE SEAT ASSIGNMENTS/CHIP COUNTS:
Seat 1 Sam Razavi 323,000
Seat 2 Walid Mubarak 243,000
Seat 3 Leo Fernandez 1,692,000

Francisco Da Costa Santos (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-169th) grabs the first bracelet for Portugal at the 2012 edition of WSOP Europe!

Da Costa Santos made quick work of PokerStars Team Pro Ana Marquez (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-369th) heads-up as he simply wouldn't be denied on this day.

The man better known as "LuckyChewy", Andrew Lichtenberger (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 71st), made his fifth final table of 2012 finishing fifth in this event.

The other famous Andy/Berger, Andrew Frankenberger (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-44th), also went deep in this event. Frankenberger, who won the 10K Pot-Limit Hold'em bracelet at the WSOP in Vegas this summer, finished on the final table bubble.

Aku Joentausta (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-334th) and Micah Smith (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-551st) were two other notables who collected POY points in the event.

Mike McDonald, Raul Paez, Dan Shak, John Monnette, current Player of the Year leader Dan Smith, Daniel Negreanu and John Eames are some of the big name players who cashed.

2012 WSOPE: ROSADONI WINS FIRST BRACELET, ANGRY JOHN MOVING UP THE CHARTS

Amateur poker player Giovanni Rosadoni (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-171st) sure picked a good time to win his first major poker tournament.

Although he needed an extra day to do it, Rosadoni finally disposed of popular pro Dan O'Brien (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 143rd) heads-up to pickup a WSOP bracelet in the 3K NLH Shootout event at WSOP Europe in Cannes, France.

O'Brien - who final tabled the Partouche Grand Final earlier this month - started the day as the short stack but he had the lead late and had his opponent up against the ropes ... only to see Rosadoni double-up with Kings and take control of this event.

It's certainly not the result that John Monnette (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-4th) was looking for, but, his third place result will allow him to move up a couple of spots to #4 overall on the Player of the Year Leaderboard. Monnette joins Big One for One Drop winner Antonio Esfandiari in fourth position.

Two-time WSOP bracelet winner and defending IPT San Remo Champ Oleksii Kovalchuk (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 18th), Adrien Allain (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-1,199th), EPT Deauville side event runner-up Paul Guichard (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-200th), EPT Deauville NLH side event winner Roman Romanovksyi (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 203rd) and EPT founder John Duthie (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-2,110h) all some of the notable players who collected POY points in this event.

2012 WSOPE: BIG WIN FOR BIG ROG! HAIRABEDIAN WINS PLO BRACELET, GRINDER MAKES HIS MOVE

It's a second win of the 2012 poker season for "Big" Roger Hairabedian (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 45th). Hot off his July WPT National Mazagan win, the jolly Frenchman picks up his first WSOP bracelet, winning the 5K PLO event in Cannes earlier today.

Hairabedian becomes the first Frenchman to pickup a WSOP bracelet on French soil.

Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 4th) was so active at the final table, it seemed as if he was involved in every single hand! His strategy worked, for the most part, as Grinder was able to come back from a short stack to finish third overall in the event.

Coming off a final table performance at WPT Malta last week, Jussi Ryynanen (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 3rd) earned a fourth place finish here in Cannes.

Jussi Nevanlinna (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-633rd), former World Champ Joe Hachem (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-633rd), Michel Abacassis (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-1,057) and Jason Mercier (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 248th) also final tabled the PLO event.

2012 WSOPE: THE YEAR OF ANTONIO CONTINUES - ESFANDIARI MOVES INTO POY TOP 3!

They don't call him the Magician for nothing. Almost three months after winning 18M dollars at the Big One for One Drop, Antonio Esfandiari (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 3rd) has just picked up another bracelet, this time at WSOP Europe.

Esfandiari's second major tournament win of the season and fifth score of the year (all at WSOP events) means that The Magician moves up, way up, to #3 overall on the 2012 QuadJacks Poker Player of the Year Leaderboard powered by PTPRpoker.

Esfandiari's big jump sends Vanessa Selbst down to fourth on the list and moves Partouche Grand Final winner Ole Schemion out of the Top 10.

Salvatore Bonavena (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-478th), Antonin Teisseire (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-858th), McLean Karr (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-1,158th) and Ashly Butler (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-311th) all joined Esfandiari at the final table.

FINAL TABLE SET IN PLO EVENT #3
The final table in the 5K PLO event is set. Days after collecting the WCOOP High Rollers title online, Jason Mercier will be at the final table.

The Grinder, Michael Mizrachi will re-enter the POY Top 5 as he's assured of 10 PTPR points.

Although he cannot overtake the #1 ranked Daniel Smith even with a win, Mizrachi - who won a bracelet here in Cannes last year - can position himself quite well for a late-season stretch run.

Fan favourite Roger Hairabedian, recent WPT Malta final table participant Jussi Ryynanen and former WSOP World Champion Joe Hachem will also be part of the final table.

It was a third place finish for 2004 WPT Grand Prix de Paris champ Surinder Sunar (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-1,667th).

WPT MALTA: GENOVASI LEADS FT, ISAIA LOOKS FOR SECOND WPT TITLE IN MALTA

Jackson Genovesi (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: NR) will be the chip leader when final table play begins at WPT Malta on Thursday. Genovesi's resume does include a win at the 2010 Poker Grand Prix in St-Vincent, Italy.

The chase group is lead by a man who has not been a stranger to final tables at major events in the last 10 months. Yorane Kerignard (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-472nd) finished in 4th place at EPT Deauville and 5th at the Venetian DeepStacks 2.5K NLH event in 2012 ... he also picked up a 6th place finish at EPT San Remo last October.

Genovesi and Kerignard are the only two players with over 1M in chips.

Although he hasn't scored any PTPR Points in 2012, Alessio Isaia finished the 2011 season ranked 6th overall in the Player of the Year race. Isaia won WPT Venice last year, he was also runner-up to Eugene Katchalov in the 1.5K Seven-Card stud event at the WSOP.

Finnish player Sampo Ryynanen (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: NR) finished third at the Unibet Open Malta in 2011.

HPT COLORADO: HARRIS WINS AT GOLDEN GATES, ODB MOVES TO #5 OVERALL ON POY CHARTS

While Micheal Harris (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-153rd) defeated Carla Sabini (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-311th) to win Heartland Poker Tour Colorado, David "ODB" Baker (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 5th) was the one grabbing the headlines once all was said and done.

Baker, who reached four final tables this past summer at the WSOP (including a win in 2.5K 8-game event), finished sixth in sickening fashion ...

UNIBET LONDON: GHATGE DOMINATES ON WAY TO HOMETOWN VICTORY

Londoner Pratik Ghatge (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-659th) used his home-field advantage en route to his first tournament win of the 2012 poker season at the Unibet Open London Main Event.

Ghatge, a 2011 EPT London side event winner, took a huge lead into final table play and although runner-up Tomasz Kozub (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-1,187th) gave it all he had, he simply could not overtake Ghatge.

Defending Champion Paul Valkenburg (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-1,844th) carried the chip lead into final table play. Unfortunately for him, it won't be a repeat for him, finishing fourth.

Frenchman Marc Inizan finished sixth in the event, one spot outside of Player of the Year points collection.

WPT PARIS: REFUSE TO LOSE - SALSBERG AVOIDS BIG NAMES, BIG STACKS TO WIN GRAND PRIX DE PARIS

For a while there, it looked as if we were going to witness poker history as Theo Jorgensen (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-251st) seemed unbeatable and held a stranglehold on Matthew Salsberg (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-72nd) and looked like a lock to win his second WPT Grand Prix de Paris title in three years.

But, Salsberg refused to give in and, despite holding only a few chips at one point, doubled-up a few times to regain the chip lead and finally win his major poker Championship.

The key hand came around 3AM Paris time. After a few double-ups, Salsberg hit the mother of all rivers as Salsberg, in awful shape as his A-10 was up against Jorgensen's A-Q, hit a fourth diamond hit the board to give Salsberg a ace-high straight and the chip lead.

Two-time EPT High Rollers Champ Philipp Gruissem (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-221st) gave it the old college try on Saturday, actually holding the chip lead at one point during three-handed play, but, bowed out in third as it seemed as if Jorgensen had his number.

Successful tournament pros Timothy Adams (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-17th) and Mohsin Charania (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 15th) didn't win the tournament, but, did gain ground in the Player of the Year race.

German Fabian Quoss (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-973rd) was the first man eliminated at the final table.

After hosting the Partouche Poker Tour final last week and the Grand Prix de Paris this week, the country of France isn't done hosting major poker events as the scene shifts back to Cannes next week for the start of the World Series of Poker Europe festivities.

As for the WPT, the next tour stop hits Malta starting tomorrow. The Borgata Poker Open starts Sunday as well - it's a double-dose of WPT action on either sides of the world.

UNIBET LONDON: 20 MONTHS LATER - VALKENBURG LOOKS TO DEFEND IN LONDON

The last time that the Unibet Open tour visited London was back in December of 2010. Dutch poker pro Paul Valkenburg (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: NR) was the winner of the last Unibet Open London event ... well, 20 months later, Valkenburg will look to defend his title as he is the chip leader heading into Sunday's final table.

Valkenburg has a small chip lead over Tomasz Kozub (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: NR) who won a huge pot late to eliminate Mikael Johansson on the final table bubble.

2010 EPT Berlin third place finisher Marc Inizan (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: NR) is looking for his first significant cash since his 21st place finish at EPT Deauville back in February. The Frenchman will start the day fourth in chips, a little less than a double-up away from the chip lead.

WPT PARIS: GRINDER SALSBERG GOES BIG NAME HUNTING IN PARIS

The final table table is set at the WPT Grand Prix de Paris and it's tournament grinder Matt Salsberg (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-1456th) who will lead the six remaining players to the final table on Saturday at the Aviation Club de France.

Salsberg has collected close to 170K USD in tournament earnings in 2012, having cashed in 18 different events on the season - including a side-event victory at the LAPC back in February.

Recent major tournament winners Mohsin Charania (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-32nd) and Timothy Adams (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-39th) follow Salsberg in second and third positions. Charania won the EPT Grand Final in April while Adams picked up his first WSOP bracelet this summer.

A win for either player would move them into the QuadJacks Player of the Year Top 10 Leaderboard ... Charania would hit the 300-point mark for the season, placing him third overall, in front of Vanessa Selbst ... as for Adams, a win would place him fourth, in front of WSOP Players Champion Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi.

2010 WPT Grand Prix de Paris Champion Theo Jorgensen (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: NR) is back at this same final table two years after his victory.

Jorgensen will join Salsberg, Charania, Adams, two-time EPT High Rollers winner Philipp Gruissem (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-642nd) (who held the chip lead the past two days) and a three-time winner on the poker circuit, Fabian Quoss (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: NR), at the latest final table on the World Poker Tour.

WPT PARIS: SO NICE, GRUISSEM DOES IT TWICE

After ending Day 2 atop the leaderboard at the WPT Grand Prix de Paris, high roller tournament standout Philipp Gruissem (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-642nd) ended the day today with the chip lead once again, leading the final 24 players into Friday's Day 4 play.

Gruissem came into the poker spotlight in 2011 when he followed a Top 30 finish at the WSOP Main Event up by winning two straight EPT High Rollers titles, in Barcelona and in London.

The French hip hop artist turned poker pro known to most as "Kool Shen" has enjoyed a breaktout year in 2012. Bruno Lopes (as he's known to everyone else) (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 31st) has won two events on the poker circuit in 2012.

Lopes won the Euro Finals of Poker Diamond Championship at this very venue - the Aviation Club de France - in January (defeating 2012 bracelet winner Aubin Cazals heads-up) and picking up the win at WPT National Cannes in late May. Lopes currently sits in fourth position.

Rounding-out the Top 5 is reigning WPT Player of the Year Joe Serock (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-119th). Serock secured the WPT POY title with a string of three Top 10 WPT Main Event finishes in the final few months of the 2011-12 WPT Season.

Defending EPT Grand Final champ Mohsin Charania (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-32nd) holds a Top 10 stack heading into Friday's play.

FINAL 24 NOTABLE CHIP COUNTS:
Philipp Gruissem 1,060,000
Bruno Lopes 440,000
Joe Serock 411,000
Mohsin Charania 307,000

PARTOUCHE: SCHEMION'S WIN HAS HIM CONTENDING FOR PLAYER OF THE YEAR

With the way he had been playing this season, it seemed as if it was only a matter of time for Ole Schemion (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 10th) to pickup the first major win of his poker career.

After a EPT Berlin prelim event win back in April (he won that same event in 2011 as well) and a 9th place finish at EPT Barcelona earlier in the month, Schemion replaces Sam Trickett as the winner of the Partouche Poker Tour Final and collects over 1M EURO for the big win.

Schemion joins fellow German poker pro Marvin Rettenmaier on the 2012 QuadJacks Poker Player of the Year powered by PTPRpoker Top 10 Leaderboard.

Schemion defeated Karen Sarkisyan (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-237th) heads-up. Sarkisyan was the chip leader coming into final table play today although Schemion was hot on his heels just a few chips behind.

Current Player of the Year leader Daniel Smith (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 1st) added to his POY lead, collecting 29 PTPR Points for his 7th place finish, on the final table bubble.

Aaron Lim, Dan O'Brien, Marcello Marigliano, Fabrice Touil, Tom Alner, Simon Ravnsbaek and David Williams are a few of the other players who earned Player of the Year points in the event.

PARTOUCHE MAIN: SMITH ADDS TO HIS POY LEAD, SARKISYAN LEADS SUNDAY'S FT

It was a good day for Dan Smith (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 1st), the current leader in the QuadJacks Player of the Year Race powered by PTPRpoker, made it deep in yet another event, further adding to his first place point total ... unfortunately for Smith, he was the final table bubble boy and his attempt at winning another poker tournament this season has gone by the wayside.

Karen Sarkisyan will hold the chip lead once final table play begins. Sarkisyan is followed closely by German pro Ole Schemion. Fabrice Touil and American Dan O'Brien will be joined by Marcello Marigliano and Aaron Lim at the final table.

THE RIVER: MASSEY SCORES AGAIN, WINS RIVER SERIES MAIN

About a week after he finished fourth in a prelim event, Aaron Massey (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 120th) has won the Main Event at the 2012 WinStar River Poker Series. Massey almost tripled his live tournament with the victory, collecting a hard-earned 650K USD for his efforts.

2011 WSOP Circuit Bossier City fourth place finisher Matt Newcombe (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-1,763rd) was the chip leader coming into final day play. Newcombe will have to settle for third place, still collecting just under 200K USD.

Justin Gardenhire (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 621st) was hoping to make a move in the Player of the Year standings ... however, Gardenhire was on the final table bubble finishing in 10th position, which means no POY points accumulated for this event.

APPT MELBOURNE: RAZAVI EARNS BIGGEST WIN OF POKER CAREER

It's a career win for English poker pro Samad Razavi (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-120th). After 100K and 200K USD pickups in 2011 (winning the UKIPT Cork Main and final tabling the Aussie Millions) Razavi earned over 325K AUD for the big win at APPT Melbourne in Australia earlier today.

Razavi came into final table play second in chips, but, was the favourite coming into FT play given his live tournament playing experience and his previous results on the circuit.

Tom Grigg (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-609th) - who entered final table play as the chip leader - finished third in the event.

Brendon Rubie (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 35th) - who finished second at the WSOP NLH 4-handed event this past summer - was the first man out. It was a very disappointing result for Rubie, who had his eyes set at the 2012 Player of the Year Top 10 with a victory here at the Crown Casino.

STARDUST CLASSIC: LIU, MCCLUNG HEAD TO FINAL TABLE, LARAQUE HEADS HOME

The Final Table is set at the Stardust Poker Mansion near Montreal where the Stardust Canadian Poker Classic powered by PokerStars is being held for the first time.

Quebec's Neal Armstrong (no, not THAT Neil - different spelling) is the chip leader heading into Final Table play later today.

Armstrong (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: NR) is the only player with a chip stack over the 2M mark.

Starting the day in second place is PCA Main Event Final Table standout Xuan Liu (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-146th). Liu - who appeared on Poker Eh's final episode of the season prior to the start of the WSOP (look for Season 2 coming soon on the QuadJacks Network) - had a great start to the WSOP collecting points in the Seven-Stud Hi-Low Eight or Better event.

Liu may have been the overnight chip leader where it not for her losing a late-night race to our other feature player, Christopher McClung (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: NR).

McClung had a successful run on the European Poker Tour in 2011, his experience in those major events will certainly serve him well later today at the Stardust.

Jean-Louis Arsenau and Bill Kontaratos are two other players to keep an eye on Sunday.

FINAL TABLE CHIP COUNTS:
Neal Armstrong 2,176,000
Xuan Liu 1,443,000
Justin Ouimette 1,263,000
Amarith Keo 1,032,000

Cedrick Angoie 516,000
Edin Cokic 500,000

It wasn't a great day for former NHL tough guy George Laraque. Laraque started the day Top 5 in chips but the former Edmonton Oiler and Montreal Canadian quickly found out that poker isn't for the weak of heart. It didn't take long for Laraque's stack to take a hit and eventually fade away on Day 2.

CanadaPoker will provide live stream coverage to the event starting at Noon Montreal Time (EDT).
