What a performance by Andy Frankenberger! Standing in the shadow of the Phil Hellmuth/Phil Ivey show on Sunday, Frankenberger (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 16th) came through, and in a big way.
If there was any doubt as to if Frankenberger's name belonged amongst poker's elite, well, there shouldn't be any doubt anymore as the former WPT Player of the Year silenced all critics by taking on the Mighty Ivey heads, and defeating him for his second taste at WSOP gold.
Something tells us, however, that this is not the last we see of Ivey (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 47th) running deep at the Series.
Alexander Venovski (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 164th), Matthew Marafioti (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 186th), Cary Katz (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 263rd) and ElkY (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 25th) all earned their third QJ/PTPR Scores of 2012.
The two final tables were filled with name players including: Ali Eslami, Manuel Bevand, the great Shaun Deeb, Hoyt Corkins, Ryan Julius, Steve Landfish, Antonio Esfandiari, Chris Klodnicki and David Benyamine.
