EVENT #29 |
1K NLH SENIORS CHAMPIONSHIP |
4,128 ENTRIES | 3.71M PRIZEPOOL
A record-breaking 4,128 players aged 50 and older invaded the Rio on Saturday, making it the biggest single Day 1 event ever, IN THE WORLD! Great job to our Seniors representing!
Our final table was focused on two familiar faces as former WSOP November Niner Dennis Phillips (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-319th) and two-time WSOP bracelet winner / two-time WPT Champion Hoyt Corkins (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-581th) were hoping to scoop their first Seniors title.
But Allyn Jaffrey Shulman (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-154th) would pull a fast one on the duo. After husband Barry and son Jeff both final tabled earlier this Series, Shulman did one better, defeating Phillips heads-up and winning the Seniors title, picking up her first WSOP bracelet!
Allyn is now one behind Barry but has the upper hand on Jeff, who was himself a November Niner a few years when Joe Cada won the Main Event and Phil Ivey final tabled.
