When Simon Charette (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-34th) finished 2nd in a 1,500 NLH Event at last year's WSOP, you can bet that the goal coming back this season would be to do one better and win the elusive bracelet.
Well, it's mission accomplished for the Toronto-area native as Charette won Event #23 - 3K NLH Six-Handed - last night, besting Ukrainian Artem Metalidi (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 97th) heads-up.
Foster Hays (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 322nd), who won a WSOP bracelet in 2011, was fifth in the event. Just missing the six-handed final table were Scott Montgomery (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-277th), Andrew Lichtenberger (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-256th) and Freddy Deeb (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-186th).
Other notables collecting PTPR Points in the event included: Eddie Blumenthal, Craig Bergeron, Damien Lhommeau, Taylor Paur, Toan Trinh and Eugene Katchalov.
ElkY MOVES UP
We don't know how he keeps on doing it year after year, but, ElkY is once again a contender for QuadJacks Poker Player of the Year - powered by PTPRpoker - as he moves back into the QJ/PTPR Top Leaderboard, sitting ninth, one spot ahead of fellow Frenchman Bruno "Kool Shen" Lopes.
With Aubin Cazals currently ranked fourth overall, that makes three players from France currently in the Top 10.
