Edward Gamaitoni has won the 2010 U.S. Poker Championship. Only 96 players participated in this year's event - and that's too bad, the USPC used to be one of the few "must play" events in poker - unfortunately, there seem to be too many other events on the go at the moment. Gamaitoni picks 100 PTPR Points for winning this Tier 3 event.
Kwinsee Khoa Tran (pictured) won the L.A. Poker Open Championship. He picked up 35 PTPR points for his win. Ray Qartomy scored for the second time this season.
Finally, Steven Fiorentini scored 35 PTPR Points for winning the Mohegan Sun's Fall Poker Showdown Deep Stack Main Event. This is Fiorentini's first score of the PTPR season.

THE BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES: BASEBALDY, TEHAN WIN BUT MARCHESE CONQUERS ALL
The Battle of Los Angeles is over and, when the dust settled, Thomas Marchese emerged as your new leader - now the #1 Ranked Player on the 2010 PTPR Player of the Year charts.
Marchese finished 5th at the NAPT LA Bounty Shootout (PTPR Tier 3 Event) - his 9th score of the season. The event was won by Eric "Basebaldy" Baldwin who enters the PTPR Top 15 (now 14th) with his win - his sixth score of the year. The Grinder also scored in the event, his 7th place finish was his 5th score of the season. Grinder is now tied for 7th overall - with Jake Cody - on the PTPR charts.
Joe Tehan also scored a big win in LA, winning the NAPT Main Event. Surprisingly, this was only Tehan's first score of the year. Seventh place finisher Jason Mercier scored for the fifth time this year, Michael Binger - who finished sixth - scored for the fourth time, while Al Grimes, Anh Van Nguyen, Jimmy Guinther, George Lind and Matt Affleck all scored for the second time.

PTS AT STAKE: MARCHESE, GRINDER CHASE PTPR #1 RANK AT NAPT BOUNTY SHOOTOUT
Thomas Marchese is back on our radar! Marchese just won his table at the 5K NAPT Bounty Shootout, Los Angeles.
The Grinder, Michael Mizrachi is also on the prowl, having also won his table. Both players could overtake Sorel Mizzi as the #1 Ranked Player of the PTPR Player of the Year race.
Marchese currently sits second on the PTPR list, trailing Mizzi by 14 points. A top-4 or better finish at the final table would see Marchese take over the #1 spot.
Mizrachi (currently 8th on the PTPR list) could take over with a win. He will move up to at least 7th once the event is over.
Should Mizrachi win it, Marchese could still be the #1 ranked player should he lose head's up to the Grinder.
The PTPR race is coming down to the wire - and the NAPT LA series is certainly providing some exciting action!

ESPN GETS JUICY FINAL TABLE AT NAPT LA
ESPN just got a gift, and a good one at that. Let's face it, we haven't seen tons of stars at one single televised final table many times in the past few years.
But, NAPT LA has just served one up!
Jason Mercier, Ray Henson, Jacob Toole, Joe Tehan, Michael Binger - oh my! Final table play starts at 2pm LA time tomorrow - the event will be televised on ESPN2 in the New Year.
This will be Mercier's 5th score of the PTPR Season. This will be Binger's fourth score of the year. Neither player has accumulated many PTPR points despite scoring so many times, here's hoping they both go deep to move up in the standings!
Here is the unofficial chip count for the NAPT Final Table...

Jason Mercier 3,700,000
Ray Henson 3,210,000

VANESSA SELBST - QUEEN OF CANNES
It seemed like it was Vanessa Selbst's tournament to win right from the start of final table play yesterday at Partoucher Poker Tour's Grand Final at the Palm Beach Hotel in Cannes, France.
The only thing that kept Vanessa from holding on to the chip lead from start to finish was a couple of miss-steps ... other than that, Selbst was ruthless and domintaed the game like only she and a few other pros can.
The win gives Selbst 132 PTPR Points and sky-rockets her into the Top 5 for the 2010 Season.
Pro Fabrice Soulier was third in the event and moves into the Top 125 on the PTPR Rankings. Tobias Reinkemeir, who won the High Rollers event at the EPT Grand Final back in May, posted a 17 point score and now sits tied for 87th on the PTPR list.

UPDATE: After fallin third in chips, Vanessa Selbst has just won a monster pot rivering a straight - now holds a 2 to 1 chip lead on nearest opponnent, Ibrahim Raouf now crippled
Vanessa Selbst is looking for her second PTPR Premier Event title in the past 6 months. After winning NAPT Mohegan Sun in April, Vanessa now is the chip leader at the Final Table of France's version of the November Nine at the Partouche Poker Tour Grand Final in Cannes.
Vanessa holds a slight chip lead over Raphael Kroll. We're already down to five player left at the final table. Fabrice Soulier is sitting fourth in chips. A win by Vanessa would place her in the Top 5 of the PTPR Player of the Year Race. With a now guaranteed "worst case" 5th place finish, Selbst is assured of 37 points, and will be the 26th player to hit the 200+ point mark for the season.
The Nine were cut to eight a few hours before the start of the final table - Ali Tekintamgac, who was to enter final day play 4th in chips, was disqualified after officials discovered he formulated a plan to cheat - placing friends in "repoter" and "blogger" roles and allowing them to reveal to him what his opponents hole cards were.
Here's a look at the final 9 participants prior to the start of final table play...
1. Vanessa Selbst - 3,951,000 (USA)
2. Fabrice Soulier - 3,652,000 (France)
3. Ibrahim Raouf - 3,492,000
4. Ali Tekintamgac - 3,289,000 (Germany) **Disqualified

FOXWOODS BELONGS TO FORREST
The WPT Final Table at the Foxwoods World Poker Finals was certainly an exciting one. Four of the final six were scoring for at least the second time this season.
The winner, when all was said and done, was Jeff Forrest. Forrest had a second place finish way back in January in a prelim event at the 2010 NAPT PCA. The win gives Forrest 167 PTPR Points for the season - tied for 44th overall.
Tom Marchese had a chance to overtake Sorel Mizzi for the #1 Overall rank. Marchese needed a first or second place finish in order to the top spot. He ended up finishing third. Still, his 343 PTPR Points this year have allowed Marchese to surpass Frank Kassela in the number two spot.

SOREL SURPRISE, MARCHESE LEADS WPT FINAL TABLE
Things seemed to be going very slow at the final table at Foxwoods. At about 3pm Foxwoods time, we still had 9 players alive, including Sorel Mizzi, with a good chip stack. By 5pm Foxwoods time, the WPT Final Table was set, and Sorel Mizzi was the bubble boy.
In what was supposed to be an epic battle between the #1 Ranked PTPR Player (Mizzi) and the #3 Ranked PTPR Player (Tom Marchese) instead ended with an unexpected exit for Sorel ... Sorel had this to say on his Twitter feed, minutes after being eliminated from the Main Event at the WPT Foxwoods World Poker Finals ...
Just @joesebok seventhboked WPT final table in kind of a gross way... I feel like I played really well tho so NP. Next stop NAPT!
Mizzi has still been able to pad his lead atop the PTPR standings. The 7th place finish (his 9th PTPR score of the season) earns him 27 PTPR Points. Sorel now has 357 PTPR Points this year.
Marchese will earn a minimum of 27 points for this event - should he finish 6th - no matter where he finishes, Marchese will jump to second place by the end of this event. Tom would need to finish either first or second in order to overtake Mizzi as the #1 PTPR Player for 2010.
Jason Mercier scored for the 4th time this season, finishing 11th, a 12th place finish gives Hoyt Corkins his 4th score of the season as well.
Here are the chip counts for the WPT Final Table .. which starts at 4PM ET Tuesday...
Seat 1. Nikolai Yakovenko - 624,000 (26 bb)
Seat 2. Jeff Forrest - 1,949,000 (81 bb)
