It's Carnival time in Sao Paulo! The Carnival Poker Festival is playing host to the Latin American Poker Tour Season Four Grand Final where 367 players made their way to the Sheraton WTC Sao Paulo on Friday to duke it out.
After two days of action, we're in the money and down to the final 24 players.
Caio Pimenta leads the way. Pimenta (2011 PTPR Rank: NR) - who won a LAPT Mar del Plata prelim event back in 2009 - is the only player over 600K in chips heading into Sunday's play where we will play down to a final table.
KID POKER A CONTENDER
Fresh off his now famous "poker rant" on the current state of affairs over at Full Tilt Poker, Kid Poker himself, Daniel Negreanu held the chip lead for a bit on Saturday. Seems like Negreanu's promise to get focused and return amongst poker's elite on the live tournament circuit.
Negreanu (2011 PTPR Rank: NR) holds the 10th position heading into Day 3 play.
2011 WPT Bratislava runner-up Mayu Roca also appears on the Top 10 leaderboard. Roca (2011 PTPR Rank: 377th) takes a little more than 400K to the final table.
