The 2012 edition of the Estrellas Poker Tour kicked off over the weekend in lovely Madrid. 482 players made their way to the Gran Casino Madrid in order to fight for a share of the over 460K Euro prizepool.
Juan Miguel Tome Perez laid low for most of the event - in fact, it looked Luis Rufas was on his way to winning the title. But the winds changed late and Tome becomes the first winner of 2012 on the Estrellas Poker Tour.
Fifth place finisher Manuel Martinez also earned a fifth place finish last season at Estrellas Ibiza.
It's important to note that the final three participants reached a deal during final day play. Rufas actually ended up with the biggest monetary payout, despite finishing second.
