Well look who decided to take over first place at the PCA Main Event again. Faraz Jaka has reprised his role as chip leader and he will be the man on top when the final 24 players begin play on Thursday.
Jaka (2011 PTPR Rank: 2094th) has been buzzing at or around the chip lead for most of this tournament, it certainly looks as if he has his eyes set on a final table. The 2009-10 WPT Player of the Year certainly looks like he has turned his tournament career around - after a tough 2011 on the felt, Jaka seems is poised for a return to live tournament success.
Yesterday's PTPR featured players survived yet another day as fellow Canadians Philippe D'Auteuil (2011 PTPR Rank: NR) and Xuan Liu (2011 PTPR Rank: 518th) still have a great shot at going all the way at the PCA.
Alex Fitzgerald (2011 PTPR Rank: 788th), Anthony Gregg (2011 PTPR Rank: 2401th), Kyle Julius (2011 PTPR Rank: 1960th) all remain in the Top 10 for another day while Byron Kaverman (2011 PTPR Rank: 27th) and 2-time EPT bridesmaid Martin Jacobson (2011 PTPR Rank: 74th) also have Top 10 chip stacks. Both Kaverman and Jacobson had strong 2011 seasons, they look to be starting 2011 in style.
Sadly, the Robin Hood of Poker, Barry Greenstein, was the last player eliminated on Wednesday, his tournament had ended. Here's hoping that this will catapult Greenstein (2011 PTPR Rank: 448th) back into tournament poker's elite.
