EPT BARCELONA: KENNEY'S WIN CLOSES OUT BARCA

While one of Spain's heroes/part-time poker player (Sergio Garcia) is catching fire on the PGA tour at the right time with the Ryder Cup around the corner and another hero/part-time poker player (Rafael Nadal) out of the US Open, the final major of the tennis season, due to injury, Spain was unable to find a hero at EPT Barcelona - a player from Spain has never won a EPT Main Event - but Barcelona should still hold its head high for hosting such a fantastic Poker Festival - Barca has certainly become one of the "must attend" stops on the poker circuit.

American Bryn Kenney (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: 17th) wrapped-up EPT Barcelona with a win in the 5K NLH Six-Max Turbo event, collecting over 80K EURO for the win. Kenney and second-place finisher Nikolaus Jedlicka (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-300th) struck a deal while heads-up and Jedlicka will actually take home more money than Kenney, despite his second place finish.

Steve O'Dwyer (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-40th) earned his fourth PTPR Score of 2012, finishing in 3rd position. O'Dwyer, who was on the Top 100 bubble, jumped into the Top 50 with his score.

Daniel Stern and Jussi Nevalinna also cashed in the event that drew a total of 62 players taking one last shot at glory in Barcelona.

PokerStars now have their eyes set on WCOOP - The World Championship of Online Poker - which begin on Sunday ... then, PokerStars and the EPT make their way to San Remo for what should be another extremely successful tour stop.

PAYOUTS (EURO)
1. Bryn Kenney €83,000
2. Nikolaus Jedlicka €88,400
3. Steve O'Dwyer €39,090
4. Daniel Stern €28,570
5. Antonio Palma €21,050
6. Edward Khebzou €15,030
7. Jussi Nevanlinna €13,530

WPT NTL DENMARK: O'DWYER BACK IN THE SADDLE, LEADS IN DENMARK

PHOTO/SOURCE: POKERNYHEDERNE.com

Steve O'Dwyer is at it again. The American has been dominating the European ranks for months now and this weekend, he's at it again!

O'Dwyer (2011 PTPR Rank: 3rd) had an amazing 2011 season on the poker circuit and is already in good shape to start 2012. After finishing 7th at EPT Copenhagen last week, O'Dwyer is in total control as final table play is set to begin at WPT National Norway.

Like the WPT Regional Series in the US, the WPT National Series has lower buy-in tournament that are not part of the regular tour yet, we have already seen some top level talent in both Series.

O'Dwyer holds almost half the chips at the WPT Final Table and seems destined to earn his second PTPR Score of 2012 and is the overwhelming favourite to win it all on Saturday at Casino Munkebjerg Vejle in Denmark.

Two-time WSOP bracelet winner and former Master Classics of Poker champion Jan Sorensen is surely going to be a major threat to O'Dwyer on Saturday, Sorensen (2011 PTPR Rank: 2356th) enters final table play fourth in chips.

We've reached the final table in Denmark. EPT Copenhagen will reach its apex Saturday at Casino Copenhagen.

Norway's Aage Ravn will enter final table play with the chip lead. Ravn's name wasn't brought up much during the earlier days of the tournament but he certainly made up for it on Friday. Ravn (2011 PTPR Rank: NR) finished 29th at this year's Aussie Millions Main Event.

Online pro Mickey Petersen will start fourth in chips on Saturday. Petersen (2011 PTPR Rank: 1155th) made a deep run in a NLH event at this past summer's WSOP.

The man who finished third last season in the race for PTPR Tournament Player of the Year - Steve O'Dwyer - makes his return to final table play on Saturday, O'Dwyer will score his first PTPR Points of 2012 on Saturday.

EPT COPENHAGEN: NEUVILLE LEADS DEFENDING CHAMP TURENIEC, OTHERS TO THE TOP 24

PHOTO (credit Neil Stoddart)/SOURCE: POKERSTARS.com

Belgium's Pierre Neuville - Team PokerStars Pro - has taken over the chip lead as Day 3 has come to an end at EPT Copenhagen. A veteran on the poker circuit, Neuville (2011 PTPR Rank: 234th) has surprisingly never won a significant event on tour. Neuville has enjoyed some success on the EPT - of note, he finished second to Antonio Matias at EPT Vilamoura back in 2009.

WSOP November Niner Martin Staszko finds himself in the Top 10 after Thursday's play. Staszko (2011 PTPR Rank: 182nd) - who finished second in the Main Event - built an extreme short stack into a Top 10 stack today.

One person to keep an eye on Friday is defending champ Michael Tureniec. Tureniec (2011 PTPR Rank: 112th) has quietly been amassing chips and currently sits 15th out of 24. Tureniec is about 500K off-pace but, you should never count out a former champion.

Our feature player from Wednesday's post died a horrible death (at least, her chips did) on Thursday. Melanie Weisner went from the penthouse to the outhouse in no time - the hand of death coming at the hands of Steve O'Dwyer when Weisner's ace-queen ran into O'Dwyer's aces.

NOTABLE CHIP COUNTS
Pierre Neuville 780,000

Michael Tureniec 294,500 (Defending Champion)

NOTABLE DAY 3 PLAYER ELIMINATIONS

The Bellagio Cup wrapped up earlier this week - no WPT bracelet for Main Event winner Elio Fox earlier this week but, still a good turnout for that event and the 5K NLH Event that followed it.

The 5K buy-in event was won by Steve O'Dwyer - who picks up his third PTPR Score of the 2011 season. O'Dwyer has scores at the NAPT Mohegan Sun Main and at a WPT Championship side event and now a win at this Bellagio Cup side event.

O'Dwyer defeated Martin Hanowski heads up while Byron Kaverman earned his third PTPR Score of the year with his 8th place finish.
