Brendon Rubie came back from the pack in order to defeat Scott Wilson, the chip leader coming into final day play at the Opening Event of the Aussie Millions down at the Crown Casino in Melbourne.


It's certainly a chaotic time in Melbourne with the Australian Open starting and plenty of Aussie Millions events in the next couple of days - it's only going to get crazier down under.

2012 AUSSIE: GOING INTO OVERTIME IN OPENING EVENT DOWN UNDER

We are going into overtime down under! The return of the Opening Event at the Aussie Millions attracted a stunning 946 players - down only a few players from the 1,000 player field in 2011 - and organizers were forced to extend the event by one day.

After three Day 1's and Day 2 yesterday, it was obvious that the final 10 players weren't going to settle things in the original time frame.

Scott Wilson (2011 PTPR Rank: NR) will enter final table play as chip leader, hoping to be the one to replace defending champ Martin Drewe (2011 PTPR Rank: 182nd) as 2012 winner.

Wilson holds a 1M chip lead over Brendon Rubie (2011 PTPR Rank: 1766th), who had one PTPR last season, at the WSOP.

The other notable player at the final table, Manny Stavropoulos, shares the same 2011 rank as Rubie. Stavropoulos (2011 PTPR Rank: 1766th) finished in the Top 10 at the Main Event at last season's Aussie Millions.
