THE RIVER: BAKER, CARROLL WIN PRELIMS

While it looks like The River Poker Series Main Event will be a major success with over 1,000 already registered (Day 1C is currently underway), the WinStar World Casino's popular series hosted prelim event this past week, two of which qualified for Player of the Year points.



1K NLH RE-ENTRY TOURNAMENT
Clinton Baker (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-632nd) won 68K USD for his win in the 1K re-entry event. There were 340 total entries for this event.

Baker led all Main Event participants during Day 1B.

Aaron Massey (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-1,754th) was fourth in the event.

5K NLH "NO JUICE" TOURNAMENT
Jim Carroll (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-162nd) - who won a prelim event at during the 2011 WPT Championship - picks up the W in the 5K NLH no juice tournament, defeating 66 other players in the process and earning a little over 90K USD for his efforts.

Runner-up Andrew Watson (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-284th) collected his second PTPR Score of the season while Jacob Bazeley (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-118th) - who finished fifth in the event - earned his third PTPR Score of 2012.

Poker legend, six-time WSOP bracelet winner T.J. Cloutier (2012 QJ/PTPR Rank: T-1,554th) finished sixth in the event.

In Las Vegas, Jim Carroll (pictured) captured his first PTPR Points of the season with his win. He collected over 130k with his win. The final table of this 90-player event was a tough one! Farzad Bonyadi, Hafiz Khan, Eric Froehlich, Steve O'Dwyer and Jess Yawitz were others at that final table.
