BWO2012: MANCUSO DEFEATS PAPOLA, WINS BORGATA WINTER OPEN

SOURCE: BORGATAWINTEROPEN2012.blogspot.com

Josh Mancuso is the winner of the 2012 Borgata Winter Poker Open. After six days of play, Mancuso and 2010 WSOP bracelet winner Jeff Papola were heads up for all the marbles.

Mancuso (2011 PTPR Rank: NR) got the better of Papola (2011 PTPR Rank: 436th) when all was said and done.

This marks Mancuso's first trip to the winner's circle on the circuit. Mancuso bested a field of 734 entrants to win it all.

Seventh place finisher Brock Parker earned his second PTPR Score this week. Parker (2011 PTPR Rank: 689th) won the Purple chip Bounty Event here at Borgata last Friday.

2005 WSOP runner-up Steve Dannenmann finished ninth in the event, he was the second player out at the final table.

PARKER, PAPOLA, DANNENMANN HIGHLIGHT FINAL TABLE AT BORGATA

SOURCE: BORGATAWINTEROPEN2012.blogspot.com

We are ready for Final Table Friday at Borgata! The field in the Main Event at the Borgata Winter Poker Open in Atlantic City has gone through four days of intense poker play - but were rewarded with a shorter day today - and now, our final table is set.

The chip leader heading into Friday play is Marc Goldman. Goldman (2011 PTPR Rank: NR) has had only a few live tournament cashes throughout his poker career - this will be the biggest cash in his career no matter where he finishes.

Brock Parker will enter FT play with the fourth best chip stack. Given his successes at this past summer's WSOP, Parker (2011 PTPR Rank: 689th) should be one of the favourites on Friday.

Jeffrey Papola finished third in a Deuce to Seven Lowball event at the WSOP. Papola (2011 PTPR Rank: 436th) also won a WSOP bracelet back in 2010.

A blast from the past holds one of the short stacks as final table play approaches. Steve Dannenmann (2011 PTPR Rank: NR), who finished second to Joe Hachem at the 2005 WSOP Main Event, will be looking for his first major score since the Series.

PAPOLA TAMES THE MASTER - BOTH ENTER PTPR TOP 10

4-event update!

Starting with Event 32 - the 5k No Limit Hold'em Six Handed Event - where Men Nguyen was heads up for his second bracelet of the Series - making sure no one has forgotten about "The Master". But Jeff Papola, who's had his own successful series so far, beat the Master to the punch.

Papola has scored major points (a first and a second) both in Six Handed events - is he the best six hander out there?

With this result, both Papola and Men the Master enter the PTPR Top 10.

A tip of the cap to notables Erick Lindgren, Christian Harder and Eugene Todd - all three also collected points in this event.
