EPT LONDON: BERGSTROM TAKES TINY LEAD INTO DAY 5

PHOTO/SOURCE: POKERSTARSBLOG.com (Neil Stoddart)

We have a new leader at the top at EPT London ... but that man barely has enough chips to consider himself the ultimate chip leader. Mattias Bergstrom is our chip leader heading into Wednesday's play, however, Adria Balaguer trails Bergstrom by less than a big blind.

You can even add German Pascal Hartmann to the list - he is less than an orbit of blinds and antes away from controlling EPT London.

Day 2 and Day 3 chip leaders Benny Spindler and James Mitchell are right there in the thick of things as well, both appear in the top six. Spindler had an off day on Monday but picked up the pace today while Mitchell quietly added to his chip stack.

Joao Barbosa sure had an eventful Day 4. The 2010 EPT San Remo Side Event winner started the day way near the bottom of the chip totals ... but, just a few hours into Day 4, Barbosa was back in the hunt, and sits 12th out of the final 24 players.

EPT LONDON: SMASHING! MITCHELL LEADS UK CHARGE

PHOTO/SOURCE: POKERSTARSBLOG.com

While Sunday's play at EPT London was mostly a German affair (as Spindler and Rettenmaier dominated the headlines), today's storylines were all about the UK - as the top three chip counts - and five of the top 10 - are all from the United Kingdom - looks like the UK players want to win one for England!

James Mitchell holds one big stack, collecting over 20k more chips than second place Sam MacDonald during Day 3 play. Mitchell, the 2010 Paddypower.com Irish Open Champion, is the only player with a 1+ million dollar chip stack.

Spindler, who held the lead after Sunday's play, fell off the charts a bit on Monday, but, still holds a Top 15 chip stack heading into Tuesday's play.

The money bubble burst during today's play. Andrew Chen, Andrew Feldman, Sebastien Ruthenberg, Toby Lewis and Doyle Brunson highlight the list of those who cashed today, sadly, their tournaments came to an end. A total of 62 players will be making their way back to the Hilton London Metropole tomorrow.
