And we’re off! The 2012 edition of the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) is off and running on laptop and desktop screens across the world.
GOMES, BLOM FIRST OUT OF THE GATES
The first major score of the 2012 edition of PokerStars SCOOP goes to Brazil’s Alexandre Gomes (PocketFives Online Ranking: 804th). No stranger to the winner’s circle on the live tournament circuit, Gomes counts a WPT Title (2009 Bellagio Cup) and a WSOP Bracelet (2008 2K NLH) amongst his accomplishments.
Well, Gomes (Allingomes) can now add SCOOP Winner to his resume, winning the kickoff Event 01-H – 2K NLH Six-Max, collecting over 282K USD for the win.
Montreal-based Str8$$$Homey (PocketFives Online Ranking: 720th) finished fourth in the event. Str8$$$Homey won the 2009 PokerStars WCOOP Event #23 – collecting 126K USD with the win.

Joining Gomes in the winner’s circle is the world-famous Viktor “Isuldur1” Blom, who wins 247K by securing the victory in Event 02-M – No Limit Hold’em.
EPT Madrid Champion Frederik Jensen (Fred_Brink) (PocketFives Online Ranking: 139th) finished fourth in the event, collecting over 87K for his efforts. Jensen currently sits 15th on the 2012 QuadJacks Poker Player of the Year Leaderboard, powered by PTPRpoker.
